FREMONT, CA: Over the past few years, increased choices for customer’s data management and enhanced demand for solutions that serve particular workloads are dominating the market for IT infrastructure equipment.
The following is a rundown of some of the top IT infrastructure technology.
1. High-performance computing (HPC)
HPC was developed in the 1960s from early scientific computing goals for centralized, greatly scalable processing in support of singular, compute exhaustive workloads. Solutions from Cray, HP, IBM, and many others combined conventional desktop computer CPUs with exclusive storage and connectivity resources in a colossal computing cluster.
2. Virtualization

8. Silicon photonics
Silicon photonics is one of the key trends in the networking industry. However, its significance is increasing in the data center industry too. These days, silicon photonics’ practical application is in pluggable optics for networking where the new packaging brings manufacturing and reductions in expenses. Enterprises like Intel, Cisco, and Macom are highly investing in photonic circuitry for networking as well as for use in interconnect on circuit boards or on-die for chips.
