Under the SaaS model, CSPs provide end-to-end communication services. Enterprises tend to use CSPs for these services rather than building them in-house. As a result, CSPs have steadily gained power.

The SDN Use Cases for Network Deployment
The SDN usage cases can be classified into two groups of network deployment scenarios: greenfield and brownfield.
SDN is a logical option for a greenfield network implementation. The real problem is the implementation of brownfield. On the other hand, every network undergoes a radical transformation that results in updates, migrations, and expansions. These transitions present an opportunity to integrate SDN in several ways.
Here are some of the use cases for SDN based on the network implementation or change scenario.
Greenfield Deployment
SDN can be the strategy to move forward if the companies want to set up a corporate WAN or service provider network that caters to multiple end-user applications and has various traffic, QoS, VPN routing specifications (via VRF), or seasonal variations. Only in cases where an isolated, relatively static network is needed will they prefer legacy routing over SDN.
Tech Refresh
As part of a tech refresh to update a current network deployment, an SDN-based infrastructure can be planned and implemented. When the network hardware inventory is dismantled, every networking devices and systems finally hit their end of existence. This occurrence could result from an internal decision to upgrade outdated technology, or the manufacturer could implement it by announcing end-of-support. A company's networking hardware and software suite should be updated to support SDN in this case.
Software abilities to function on x86-based COTS hardware and licensing portability must not be limited to hardware lock-ins, output throughputs, or the number of ports. Moreover, it can move away from the BlackBox method toward the WhiteBox solution.
