• Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS)

• Host Intrusion Detection System (HIDS)

Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)

IPS are regarded as supplements to IDS, as they both monitor traffic networks and system activities for dangerous actions. Four forms of IPS are available:
• Network-based IPS
This program primarily scans the entire system carefully for abnormal traffic through protocol analysis.
• Wireless IPS
More precisely, by analyzing wireless networking protocols, this system monitors wireless networks for suspicious behaviors.
• Network Behavior Analysis
Network Behavior Analysis monitors network traffic in order to identify risks affecting irregular traffic flows, including denial of service attacks, unique kinds of malware, and breach of policy.
• Host-based IPS
Lastly, Host-based IPS is a software package set designed to track a single host for suspicious activities by analyzing behaviors within the host.
