Network cables connect two or more computers or networking devices in a network. Coaxial, twisted-pair, and fiber-optic cables are the three types of network cables.

Below are the details of each type of network cable discussed.
Optical fiber-cable
Fiber optic cable contains different objects. Its core, cladding, buffer, and jacket—all these requirements for making optical fiber cables. The core is used to transmit long-distance data. Core uses light forms to carry data signals. Then the following process of cladding transmits light to the center. The next type to make a fiber cable is a buffer. This protects light emission from leakage. Finally, if physical damage occurs, the jacket handles, saving the fiber cable. This complete process makes it user-friendly and handy. Fiber optic cable's importance is that it is used for long-distance data transmission. It can transmit signals or data from one place to another. Fiber cables send the highest speed data at 100Gbps at 40 kilometers long distance.
There are two fiber cable types.
Single-mode fiber works reliably. According to its name, only one light beam is carried in this cable. Therefore, this cable supports greater bandwidth and extensive distances.
Multi-mode fiber is another cable type. SMF is more reliable than MMF, as it contains many lights. But the critical point with this cable is that it has more data than SMF cable. Therefore, these cables are not used for more considerable distances, while a small space works well.
Twisted Pair Cable
Twisted Pair cables are widely used in small or large organizations and also at home. It has four colored wire pairs—the wires used in this twisted pair of isolated copper wires. One wire is solid, while the other wire is completely stripped. Therefore, twisted pair cables are available in four different colors. These four colors distinguish solid and stripped wires. Solid colors include blue, brown, orange, and green. Additionally, these colors are used on the striped wires.
UTP and STP are two different types of cables that are used for desktop connectivity.
The unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable is referred to as UTP. The pair of wires is sheathed in a single piece of plastic. While the other is referred to as shielded twisted pair (STP) cable. This cable offers more excellent protection than UTP.
Coaxial Cable
It has a single middle copper conductor. A plastic layer isolates the braided metal shield and center conductor. Metal shield blocks external motor interference, fluorescent lights, and other computers. Coaxial cabling is exceptionally resistant to signal obstruction, although complex installation. It can handle extensive network devices cable lengths than twisted pair cable. The two coaxial cable types are thin, coaxial, and thick.
