A new carrier board module enables 5G wireless modems for reduced latency and increased bandwidth in artificial intelligence and advanced automation applications at the edge.

RCO-6000-CFL industrial edge computers from Premio Inc. now enable 5G connection, making them the first of their kind in the industry to do so. Powerful computing is now possible in environments previously considered too harsh for industrial robotics, advanced automation, and artificial intelligence because of these ruggedized PCs (AI). As North American 5G markets take off, these systems use the latest in Intel® CoreTM processor technology, high-speed NVMe storage, and enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) connectivity.

The 5G module (DTB-M2BK) will also be available in Premio's next generation of industrial edge computers, the RCO-6000-CML product family, which is scheduled to ship in Q1 2022 with support for Intel® CoreTM processors of the tenth generation (formerly known as Comet Lake).
The RCO-6000-CFL industrial product range from Premio offers extensive expandability to improve wireless connectivity, simplify integration, and enable automation capabilities in severe IoT deployments. The integration of cutting-edge and legacy technologies into a single intelligent, industrial computing system is simple. RCO-6000-CFL versions are purpose-built for edge deployments, with more CPU cores, larger memory cache, NVMe storage, and 5G capabilities. This industrial-grade solution upholds Premio's reputation for challenging engineering with a fanless design, a wide working temperature range, shock and vibration resistance, and TPM 2.0 hardware security.
