5G is Now a Feasible WAN Link
Connectivity rates on 5G cellular networks are now comparable to many broadband internet services. They are simple to set up and allow for the rapid creation of new branch locations. Organizations will increasingly use 5G as one of the circuits for SD-WAN networking in 2021, at the very least for backup and reliability. If the 5G competition grows, unlimited data plans will become more affordable, making 5G WAN connections much more appealing.
Automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Make an Impact While SD-WAN providers have spoken about how AI and machine learning can help them simplify their networks, actual deployments have been disappointing. Vendors will begin to deliver on their promises of increased automation for SD-WAN goods and services in 2021. Their mission is to provide a single platform for centralized control of security protocols, quality of operation, software, users, and devices; to enable IT operators to ensure QoS from end to end and easily detect and remediate application slowdowns.
Progress of Managed Services
Leading-edge businesses that adopted SD-WAN with their internal IT teams were at the forefront of the first wave of SD-WAN adoption. The success of SD-WAN as a controlled service would boost the second wave of adoption. IT companies also use managed network networks to outsource the complexities of delivering access to their branches and data centers. SD-WAN is difficult to introduce and incorporate, particularly for SMBs and those who adopt a lean IT ideology. As a managed service, SD-WAN removes several implementation obstacles and works well with an IT outsourcing approach
