Type of network security protection
Firewall: Security rules determine which traffic should be allowed or denied based on incoming and outgoing network traffic. Firewalls have served as network security's first line of defense for more than two decades. By providing a barrier between trustworthy internal protected and regulated networks and shady external networks, like the internet, they provide a measure of trust between the two.
Remote access VPN: The term virtual private network (VPN) refers to an encrypted connection between a device and an online network. Sensitive data can be transmitted securely using an encrypted connection. The user can work remotely, and unauthorized parties cannot eavesdrop on all traffic. VPNs are widely used both in business and personal networks.
Intrusion prevention system (IPS): In an intrusion prevention system (IPS), a network security tool continuously monitors for harmful activity and responds by reporting, blocking, or discarding it when it occurs. Hardware and software can both be used. This system has more sophistication than intrusion detection systems (IDS), which merely detect harmful activity and warn an administrator about it.

Data loss prevention
DPL is classified into three types, all of which must be safeguarded:
DLP technologies aid in the protection of data when it is in use, in motion, or at rest.
Data in Use: Authenticating users and managing access to sensitive data to secure data in endpoints or apps while it is being actively processed.
Data in Motion: Encrypting data or employing email and messaging security techniques to ensure private data is safeguarded while being transported over a network.
Data at Rest: Using access control, encryption, and data retention policies to protect data stored in the cloud, databases or other storage mediums such as backup tapes and endpoint devices.
