Routers

An access point acts as an amplifier for your network. While a router gives the bandwidth, an access point extends that bandwidth so that the network can support many devices and access the network from farther away.

Access points support various IEEE standards. Every standard is an amendment that was ratified over time. As a result, the standards operate on varying frequencies, deliver different bandwidths, and support other numbers of channels.
Wireless Networking

1. Centralised deployment
The most general type of wireless network system, centralized deployments, is traditionally used on campuses where buildings and networks are nearby. 2. Converged deployment
Converged deployments for small campuses or branch offices offer wireless and wired connections consistency. This deployment joins wired and wireless on one network device—an access switch—and performs the dual role of both control and wireless controller.
3. Cloud-based deployment
This system utilizes the cloud to manage network devices deployed on-premises at various locations. The solution needs Cisco Meraki cloud-managed devices, which provide full network visibility through their dashboards.
