End 2 End (E2E) Technologies’ website draws a visitor’s attention toward two sections—the Industrial Automation Solution and ‘Employee of the Year.’

This reveals one of E2E’s intrinsic principles: valuing its trained employees, experienced engineers and field technicians, and top-level software developers equally with the cutting-edge solutions that have cemented its position as a leading, end-to-end industrial automation and connectivity solution provider.

“The technological value proposition of our solutions defines us, but the strength of our team has been the real guide to our success,” says Tom Grove, Senior VP of Development and Support at E2E.

The team and E2E’s solutions were not built in a day; it was the gradual materialization of Gregory Crow’s vision.

Crow, the CEO, co-founded E2E with Thomas Peterson with the goal of creating an innovative, end-to-end management solution for industrial communications.

After futile attempts with off-the-shelf solutions, E2E embarked on designing and manufacturing its own collector device that can listen to hundreds of sensors and other end devices using standard and proprietary protocols. Due to the out-of-box commissioning, the company simplified the setup for the field installation, while assembling data through its E2E cloud-based software in real time.
The next few years witnessed E2E developing easy-to-implement products for industrial customers. Today, the company’s focus is on designing robust software and hardware solutions for operational asset management to ensure clients are up and running in minutes.

Delivering Value to Industrial Customers

Many companies, with their budget constraints, lack the ability to efficiently monitor their critical operational assets and industrial network activity.

E2E helps such customers discover deployed devices and collect performance and analyticsdata from the industrial wireless network with its Network Management System (NMS).

Better visibility into their networks empowers clients to improve performance.

Another solution from E2E is Distributed Endpoint Management (DEM) that integrates IIoT sensors and legacy devices to create an end-to-end organizational topology. NMS and DEM are components of the E2E suite ofsoftware products called the Industrial Management Solution (IMS), purpose built for managing critical industrial communication networks and edge endpoints.

“Customers always strive to be more efficient with staffing, operations, and management of their systems,” says Steve Lee, the Senior Software Architect at E2E. “Our products are designed from the ground up to deliver that exact value to industrial customers.”

With Our Solution, Customers No Longer Need To Purchase Expensive Products That Take Years To Deploy

For instance, one of E2E’s customers, an interstate pipeline and gathering company, engaged E2E’s development team to create a solution that meets new TSA regulations. This included updating passwords on roughly 10,000 devices in their field operation assets and incorporating multiple products and technology from various vendors. E2E efficiently handled over 95 percent of their devices.

E2E provides customers with a consolidated operational perspective. This allows for unprecedented visibility into equipment and operational status. Asa result, customers can undertake route planning, maintenance of devices, and other critical actions, while reducing cost and maximizing uptime.

Offering a Faster ROI

To aid clients in automating device monitoring and to increase efficiency, E2E uses its IMS DEM along with its ULTRA hardware line of products. Customers can validate whether their equipment is functioning properly, eliminate travel costs by checking tank levels at remote well sites, avoid stoppage at large livestock self-feeding operations, and provide chemical tank refill date estimates.

E2E delivers IIoT solutions for various applications in the agricultural sector, including monitoring livestock feed bin levels and livestock building temperatures. Customers can access the information via phone, tablet, or computer through E2E’s cloud-based software. This solution also has alert capabilities when temperatures or feed/fuel fall below user-defined thresholds. This capability is critical as damage to a feed or heating system can lead to the loss of the entire stock.

A food storage and delivery service company utilizes the E2E software and sensors to monitor their systems. They have temperature sensors to monitor food freezers, refrigerator units, and cold work rooms. Before installing E2E’s IIoT solution, these units would go unmanaged. Any unforeseen failure in refrigeration systems led to waste and expensive repairs. IMS gave the clientvisibility into their systems to identify failing components.

  • The Technological Value Proposition Of Our Solutions Defines Us, But The Strength Of Our Team Has Been The Real Guide To Our Success

“With our solution, customers no longer need to purchase expensive products that take years to deploy,” says Alan Grinsteinner, Product Manager, Edge, E2E. “We enable users to address their issues quickly.”

Committed to Customer Excellence

E2E continues to streamline solution development by investing in its team. “All of us at E2E listen to our customers and work hard to deliver solutions specific to their needs,” says Mike Brown, Senior Vice President of Sales.

Moving forward, E2E plans on capturing market presence by deliveringsolutions based on the needs of both its existing and its potential client base. The company intends to leverage the data it has accumulated from its products and extend its platform with an analytics engine. The next step will be to feed the analytics engine with the correlation and topology inputs gained from E2E’s base platform software engines.

While its sales and development teams remain focused on E2E’s industrial markets domestically, the company continues to work on applications in emerging markets such as rail and aquaponics. It has recognized that the needs of domestic clients are similar to international customers -- and this draws a perfect product roadmap.
